Fleet Maintenance Specialist

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 2 Mechanics to join our team on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a fully qualified Mechanic who has completed a recognised apprenticeship to C&G, Scotvec, or equivalent standard and holds a current LGC category C driving licence or is willing to gain this within the first year of employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of the Glasgow City Council fleet of vehicles to DVSA and Health and Safety standards and for the completion of all relevant associated paperwork.

As a Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will have a current knowledge of vehicle systems, including electric vehicles, and the legal requirements with regard to vehicle condition to MOT standard. You will also possess good communication, organisational, diagnostic/report writing skills, the ability to work to tight time schedules, to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week.

Work Pattern: rotational 2-shift system of Dayshifts (8am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1:30pm Friday) and Backshifts (1pm - 9:30pm Monday to Thursday and 12noon - 5:30pm Friday).
