About the Role:

The Scottish Ambulance Service is seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team. This pivotal national role will align with the East operational region and dedicated maintenance facilities within this area.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic fleet professional to lead a team of up to 30 staff across several facilities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in all aspects of fleet management, vehicle design, legislative compliance, preventative maintenance, and management of modern vehicle maintenance facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage Staff Wellbeing, Health & Safety, legislative compliance, and budgetary control
  • Lead projects that require engagement with various stakeholders, utilising strong communication skills
  • Contribute to the development and planning of services and activities
  • Demonstrate experience working in a relevant role within Fleet Management, managing employees, and their performance in a large private or public sector organisation

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • Recognised management qualification or evidenced training in a relevant discipline
  • Full valid driving licence (B)
  • C1 entitlement or attainment within 12 months (support may be available)
