Senior Ecologist Job Description

Are you a skilled ecologist looking for a challenging role that will allow you to make a real impact? We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join our team at CleanTech Talent, a consultancy that cares about the environment and is passionate about innovation, community, and making a positive impact.

About the Role

As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading exciting projects and working with clients to provide expert advice on ecological matters. Your duties will include conducting preliminary ecology appraisals, ecological impact assessments, and habitats regulations assessments, as well as designing and leading ecological surveys and mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting preliminary ecology appraisals, ecological impact assessments, and habitats regulations assessments.
  • Designing and leading ecological surveys and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborating across disciplines on unique, high-impact projects.
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring your advice shapes the success of their projects.
Requirements
  • Academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legislative and planning policy framework.
  • Excellent survey skills, including extended Phase I/UKHabs, specialized species surveys (holding at least one license or specialisation), and/or botanical assessments.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
