Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one or group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and individual learning plans.
  • Help students develop coping strategies, self-regulation, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support classroom management.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to foster engagement and personal development.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and well-being.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to students.
  • Promote inclusion, respect, and understanding within the school environment.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of behaviour intervention programmes.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • An understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
  • A relevant qualification in education, child development, or special educational needs (desirable).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
