We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Medicine Specialist to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital. As a key member of our Adult Medicine Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supervising junior clinical staff, and participating in research, teaching, and governance programs.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality care to patients with a range of adult medical conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses.
- Supervise and mentor junior clinical staff, including medical registrars and junior doctors, to ensure they receive the necessary support and guidance to develop their clinical skills.
- Participate in research, teaching, and governance programs to contribute to the development of new treatments and improve patient outcomes.
- Work closely with nursing, managerial, and medical colleagues to provide high-quality healthcare to our patients.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCP(UK) full certification or equivalent by time of appointment.
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or equivalent by time of appointment.
- At least 24 months experience in medicine or an ACCS programme or equivalent (not including Foundation by the time of commencement of ST3 training).
The post includes participation in an on-call rota for medical registrars and the current General Medical Registrar on Call Rota is 1 in 10 intensity.
The appointee will cover inpatients under consultant supervision and be expected to give advice when required to clinical nurse practitioners and to advise junior medical staff where appropriate.
