Job Title: Electrical Hardware Design Engineer - Energy Sector

Rubicon Consulting is a talent management consultancy that helps businesses optimize performance and gain a competitive advantage by selecting the right people first time. We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our team in Staffordshire.

This is a permanent position that requires a UK National or UK Citizen with no history of living outside the UK in the last 5 years. The successful candidate will lead and drive project teams, review and approve designs, and ensure compliance with agreed procedures and standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in control systems within the energy market, field cabling systems, and control panel design. They will also be educated to at least degree level in a relevant subject or have equivalent experience. Computer literacy, a methodical approach, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive project teams
  • Review and approve designs
  • Ensure compliance with agreed procedures and standards
  • Interpret and verify customer supplied data, specifications, and drawings
  • Lead the creation and modification of design packs
  • Produce client design documentation and test documentation
  • Support site acceptance testing and commissioning
  • Support the production of tender documents and cost estimates

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider control systems
  • Site installation and commissioning experience
  • Motor control centre specification, procurement, and installation experience
  • Good understanding of BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regs
  • Awareness of DSEAR Regulations and Hazardous area applications
  • Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
