Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled finance professional to manage our Accounts Department, coordinate financial accounting activities, and produce monthly reports in accordance with UK regulations.

  • Manage accounts and ensure accurate ledgers
  • Coordinate management accounts and monthly reports
  • Monitor and maintain the Group's fixed assets registers
  • Forecast overhead costs and produce financial reports
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including accountants, bankers, and HMRC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee financial accounting activities, manage accounts, and ensure accurate ledgers using Sage Accounts software
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Manage rolling cash flow forecasts, prepare monthly cash flow reports, and budgets
  • General Accountancy: Liaise with stakeholders, assist the Group Bursar, and support the Director
  • School Fees Administration: Support the Accounts Administrators, log fee deposits, and dispatch invoices
  • Credit Control Administration: Process payments, send reminders, and chase fee payments
  • VAT Returns: Produce accurate VAT records and submit monthly VAT Returns

Requirements:

  • Essential: ACA/ACCA qualification, extensive knowledge of laws, taxes, and finance practices, experience in finance environments, and advanced Sage Accounts knowledge
  • Desirable: Proven leadership skills, accounting/finance degree, and previous experience working with credit control
