About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Analyst to join our team at Waltham Forest. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance and support to senior stakeholders.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on capital accounting within the organization, working closely with the Group Accountant Capital to ensure the production of accurate and timely financial information. This includes supporting the preparation of the capital accounts and notes to the accounts, as well as providing financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions.

Main Responsibilities:

Capital Accounting Support

  • Collaborate with the Group Accountant Capital to prepare and monitor the capital budget, ensuring timely submission of financial reports and forecasts.
  • Support the development of financial models and budgets to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate capital schemes and provide financial input to Cabinet approvals.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepare and present complex financial information to senior stakeholders, including budget holders and members of the Executive Board.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records, including asset registers and capital budgets.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.

Satisfactory DBS check.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
