Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom The White Horse Federation Full time

The White Horse Federation is a leading Multi-Academy Trust operating across Wiltshire, Swindon, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire, with 31 schools under its umbrella. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and personable Clerk to join our dedicated team of clerks in supporting the Local Governance Committees (LGCs) of schools within our federation.

This exciting opportunity offers the perfect blend of flexibility and challenge, with part-time hours available during term time. As a Clerk at The White Horse Federation, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and managing LGC meetings, which take place at least four times per year. Your responsibilities will include drafting agendas, producing accurate minutes of meetings, maintaining membership information, and providing procedural guidance as needed.

In addition to these core duties, there may be opportunities to cover ad-hoc clerking tasks for extra school meetings or other schools within the Trust. With more than one role available in the Swindon and Wiltshire areas, you will have flexibility regarding the number of schools covered and the resulting working hours.

We are looking for a skilled individual with previous experience in minute-taking and good administration skills. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and ideally Governor Hub. Flexibility, prioritization, and effective multitasking are essential attributes for this role. A high level of organization and confidentiality, combined with excellent communication skills, are also vital. Knowledge of governance in a school context is desirable but not mandatory, as training will be provided.

As a valued member of our team, you can expect:

  • A competitive salary range of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • The chance to network with other clerks across the Trust and contribute to a supportive community of educators.
  • Access to a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, car purchase scheme, cycle to work scheme, and employee assistance programme.

We value diversity and believe that everyone should be treated with fairness and respect. We operate a fair recruitment process, free from discrimination against protected characteristics, in line with the Equality Act 2010.
