We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Mechanic to join our Operational Team at BAM Nuttall. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of plant and equipment, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out regular plant inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on plant maintenance and repair procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices to ensure that our plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Minimum NVQ level 2 Plant Mechanic qualification or equivalent.
- Full clean driving license.
- Proven experience in plant maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction or heavy industry environment.
- Strong knowledge of plant and equipment systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, with a willingness to travel to various sites across the UK.
