Job Title: Assistant to Transport Manager

Location: West Drayton, Middlesex

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant to the Transport Manager to support the day-to-day compliance of the operators' licence and deliver optimum fleet utilisation and efficiency.

This role would suit someone with an interest in motor vehicles or trucks and aspirations to become a Transport/Fleet Manager in the future.

Our client operates a fleet of Tipper Trucks, including articulated lorries, used for haulage of materials and supplies for their customers. The upkeep and maintenance of these vehicles is a shared responsibility between the Transport Manager and the post holder.

The role will be largely administrative, requiring support with the following tasks:

  • Run fleet report checks at the beginning of the day to ensure correct vehicle assignment to drivers;
  • Support with scheduling servicing, repair, MOT prep, and PMI for a mixed fleet of heavy commercial trucks;
  • Ensure driver vehicle checks are completed and uploaded onto the Fleet Management software;
  • Investigate reported vehicle defects/faults and work with the Transport Manager to prioritize repair schedules;
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records and reports for fleet management;
  • Support the Transport Manager in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
