The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in the Landfill finance team of the Resource and Energy division at Biffa Waste Services Limited. This position involves assisting in accounting, budgeting, and management reporting to ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of month-end accounts to meet reporting deadlines.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and reforecasting.
- Provide finance advice and support to operating sites to improve their financial-driven key performance indicators.
- Ensure financial controls, processes, and disciplines are in place and adhered to.
- Support and drive query resolution for any issues that arise within operating location Profit and Loss.
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance areas to monitor performance, highlight trends, and identify areas of improvement.
- Aid in Capital Expenditure reporting and the ongoing re-forecast process.
- Maintain other key performance data as required.
- Studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
- 2 years of management accounts experience.
- Highly competent in Microsoft Excel and proficient with reporting and analytical tools.
