Job Title: Environmental Health Manager

About the Role:

The Environmental Health Manager will lead efforts to create a safe working environment for all Schreiber Foods partners, customers, visitors, and contractors. This role will be responsible for implementing successful environmental and safety programs through coordination with HSE, local regulations, and building a "safety comes first" attitude amongst Schreiber Foods partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance: Lead efforts to improve safety and environmental compliance for applicable programs, working with direct reports, leaders, and partners.
  • Written Programs: Lead the EHS team in developing, maintaining, and improving applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety written programs.
  • Training: Oversee and administer Safety and Environmental training in the plant, ensuring proper training of hourly and salary partners and documenting training processes.
  • Inspections: Lead regulatory agency inspections by external safety and/or environmental agencies or customers, staying current with Safety and Environmental SOPs.
  • Incident Inspections: Collaborate with partners and leaders to identify root causes of incidents such as spills, safety incidents, recordables, and other EHS issues.
  • Behavior Based Safety: Conduct partner safety observations (PSO) training for leaders in the plant, validating quantity and quality of observations.
  • Accountability: Manage plant safety budget and work with HO Safety and plant HR to drive plant worker's comp cases to resolution.
  • Projects: Participate in initiatives or projects outside of plant(s) responsibility on an as-needed basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or License/Certification in Occupational Safety, Health, or Environmental fields with relevant experience and demonstrated performance.
  • +6 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Safety in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience in creating safety programs, training programs, conducting plant audits, and conveying findings to plant leadership.
  • Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process excellence and results-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer applications (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, EHS Software platforms) to enhance performance and provide information to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to present to both internal and external customers, with timely follow-up and response.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with all relevant parts of the business, with a self-starter attitude and ability to make decisions and effect change.
  • Availability to travel up to 10% (on an annual basis).
