Equity Fund Accountant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Equity Fund Accountant to join our team at Barbara Houghton Associates. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support our clients' investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate daily fund and strategies P&L and NAV estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review AUM reports, including P&L tracking analysis between Fund and Managed Accounts, to provide insights into investment performance.
- Oversee fund valuation and fund calculations, including capital calls, management fees, investor income allocations, and distributions, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with corporate action processing, including dividend payments and stock splits, to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct pre- and post-risk monitoring on equity trade activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform monthly NAV reconciliations in coordination with Fund and SMA administrators to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare annual financial statements in conjunction with the Fund administrator, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage treasury operations, including monitoring movement of cash balances into and between accounts, to ensure efficient cash management.
- Review investor tax calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with professional advisors, including auditors and tax advisors, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to provide expert advice on financial matters.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Private Credit and Private Equity Funds, including LP/GP structures and Master Feeder structures.
- ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, or part-qualified with a strong numeric background.
- Experience with Excel, including VBA coding knowledge, or similar coding language.
- Previous experience working on commodity-based funds is desirable.
