About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Equity Fund Accountant to join our team at Barbara Houghton. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate daily fund and strategies profit and loss (P&L) and net asset value (NAV) estimates.
- Prepare and review AUM reports, including P&L tracking analysis between fund and managed accounts.
- Oversee fund valuation and fund calculations, including capital calls, management fees, investor income allocations, and distributions.
- Assist with corporate action processing and conduct pre- and post-risk monitoring on equity trade activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform monthly NAV reconciliations in coordination with fund and SMA administrators.
- Prepare annual financial statements in conjunction with the fund administrator.
- Manage treasury operations, including monitoring movement of cash balances into and between accounts.
- Review investor tax calculations and liaise with professional advisors, including auditors and tax advisors.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of private credit and private equity funds.
- ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, or part-qualified with a strong numeric background.
- Experience with LP/GP structures and/or master feeder structures.
- Strong Excel skills with VBA coding knowledge, or similar coding language preferred.
- Previous experience of working on commodity-based funds desired.
