Company Overview

Morgan Hunt is seeking a highly skilled Building Performance Specialist to join their Glasgow office. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in energy systems modelling and assist with the development of energy, decarbonisation, and sustainability strategies for new-build and existing buildings.

Role

As a Building Performance Specialist, you will work under the guidance and supervision of an experienced Building Performance Modelling team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing your knowledge and skills in energy systems modelling
  • Assisting with the development of energy, decarbonisation, and sustainability strategies for new-build and existing buildings
  • Working with Building Services Engineers and Sustainability Specialists to optimise HVAC operation and minimise energy consumption and carbon emissions

Qualifications/Experience

  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in a subject related to Building Services Design or Mechanical Engineering
  • Some knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly about heat transfer, energy balance, and thermal comfort
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Enthusiasm for a career in sustainable building services design and controls underpinned by an understanding of our sector and work
  • Analytical thought process
  • Creative approach to problem-solving
  • Aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
  • Organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities
  • A drive to meet deadlines and a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions
