At Apex Contracting Co., we're committed to making a positive impact on communities through our landmark projects. As a Transport Planner and Project Manager, you'll be part of our integrated Development team in Liverpool or Manchester.

Your role will involve working on a range of projects from commercial, retail, and residential developments, as well as Local Development Framework Representations. You'll develop transport strategies, support with Expert Witness evidence, and work closely with our Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental teams.

As a key member of the team, you'll perform day-to-day technical transport planning input into Development planning projects and take on a project management and leadership role where appropriate. This will include mentoring our Early Career Professionals to assist in delivering projects.

You'll also support/lead our transport planning input into small to medium-scale projects and collaborate with senior colleagues to deliver, manage, and lead complex multi-disciplinary projects. Additionally, you'll grow your professional network to contribute to Business Development.

We're looking for an experienced Engineer/Transport Planner with significant knowledge and hands-on post-graduate experience. Ideally, you'll have or be pursuing chartered status in a transport-related discipline.

Some essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Expertise in preparing traffic flow information for use in a Transport Assessment and/or Environmental Statement;
  • Expertise in setting up and running junction capacity modeling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, along with understanding inputs, outputs, and scenario testing;
  • Experience of project management (e.g. budget planning, resource planning, invoicing) on small to medium-scale projects;
  • Good communication skills and confidence in leading discussions with clients, project teams, co-professionals, and other stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in daily software packages like Excel and Word;
  • A growing professional network of co-professionals and clients;
  • $80,000 - $110,000 per annum salary, depending on experience.
