Accounts Payable Specialist

This is a detail-oriented Accounts Payable position in the Transport & Distribution industry, with a primary focus on the Accounting & Finance department.
Key Responsibilities- Authenticate and update vendor details, verifying bank details
- Validate purchase invoices and credit notes, applying problem-solving skills to disputed items
- Ensure accuracy of data entry, processing transaction details, item lines, and tax correctly, adhering to company policies
- Investigate and resolve day-to-day queries proactively and accurately
- Support the administration of Weekly & Critical payment runs, including remittances
- Perform regular vendor reconciliations, with prompt solutions for issues identified
- Assist with other ad-hoc projects and tasks as advised, such as audit
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced high-volume environment with regular deadlines and new vendors
- Experience of operating across multiple legal entities with multi-currency accounts
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Capability of working on the full cycle of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and reconciliation

- Great problem-solving and organizational skills with fantastic attention to detail
- First-rate time management and prioritization skills

- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in MS Office applications
- Experience with SAGE 300
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in the travel or tourism industry
- An attractive hourly rate of between £16 and £17.50
