Job Title: Engineering Shift Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Manager to join our team at CBRE Enterprise EMEA. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day PPM tasks, reactive maintenance, and sub-contractor management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the shift team in providing service to our clients
  • Provide cover for out-of-hours work efforts
  • Day-to-day involvement with Building Management Systems
  • Undertake and maintain PPM records
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Instill best working practices
  • Maintain compliance with H&S policies
  • Support colleagues in motivation and commitment to clients, contracts, and company
  • Proactive approach to resolving day-to-day problems
  • Monitor and review permits and working practices
  • Review and understand emergency procedures
  • Booking maintenance visits and quoting for works
  • Arrange site works
Dimensions:
  • Employed within a strategically important and prestigious account
  • Interface with tenants and clients at all levels
  • Compliance with statutory and safety obligations
  • Integrate with CBRE departments for seamless delivery of services
  • Understand and demonstrate CBRE RISE values
Personal Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
  • Time-served and academic qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
  • Several years of experience, including a similar role, with good customer skills
  • Self-motivated and promotes a "can-do" customer attitude
Duties:
  • Multi-skilled engineer with knowledge of HVAC, Building Services, and waste management
  • Flexible attitude with a "can-do" approach and willingness to work outside skill base
  • Administration skills for maintaining computer-based and hardcopy systems
  • Ability to react and work on own initiative on an on-call system
  • Work on multiple sites as required
  • Operate building systems effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure service provider worksheets are signed off and quality of works inspected
  • Responsible for critical equipment and escalation of incidents
Skills:
  • Planning, prioritization of tasks, and reacting to break downs
  • Sourcing and vetting quotations
  • Vetting safe system paperwork and issuing permits
  • Work issuing, progress control, and quality control
Knowledge:
  • Proven experience as a shift engineer in building services within a prestigious environment
  • City and Guild qualification and relevant qualification in building services
  • Team working experience and ability to motivate small teams under pressure
Personal Attributes:
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Good customer liaison skills and front-of-house mentality
  • Can-do attitude and flexible approach
