About the Role

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team on a locum basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the development of our services, and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run ambulatory, inpatient theatre, and/or day case lists, ensuring efficient and effective patient care.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics, providing expert advice and guidance to patients and colleagues.
  • Participate in governance and case discussions, contributing to the development of our services and ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the review of post-operative patients, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the Emergency Gynaecology Service in the Gynaecology Assessment Unit at the LRI and participate in on-call rota as agreed by the Head of Service for Gynaecology.
  • Contribute to the e-Referral Service Advice and Guidance, providing expert advice and guidance to GPs and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promote new ways of working and coordinating care for patients in the community, ensuring effective and integrated partnerships across the health community.
  • Supervise and train junior medical staff, ensuring the development of our team and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Person Specification

We are seeking a Consultant with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MB BS or Equivalent
  • MRCOG or FRCOG

As a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will have a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the development of our services, and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team. You will be a skilled communicator, able to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. You will also have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, ensuring that you remain up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
