Pressure Systems Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Pressure Systems Inspector to join our team in the Cheshire region. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of major pressure systems at refinery plants.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a UKAS RG2 category 2 or 3 Inspection Engineer to work onshore and utilize their expertise in NDT, Inspection Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will have experience in creating work scopes to carry out examinations of major pressure systems in accordance with the Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
You will work closely with our NDT team to ensure that NDT inspection techniques meet integrity objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality inspection reports, accurately describing the assets' condition, and grading corrosion against company procedure corrosion scales.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of WSEs in accordance with the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR)
- Preparation of inspection work scopes to satisfy the Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
- Carry out invasive visual examinations of major pressure systems in accordance with the WSE
- Interface with NDT team to provide clarification on NDT inspection techniques
- Preparation of high-quality inspection reports
- Grade corrosion against company procedure corrosion scales
The ideal candidate will possess in-service inspection experience of process piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation columns, and PRVs, along with knowledge of the accompanying design codes. They must also understand PSSR and have experience creating work scopes to carry out examinations of major pressure systems in accordance with the WSE.
UKAS definition for category 2 or 3 inspection engineers as follows:
Category 2. Incorporated Engineer as defined by Engineering Council or equivalent, including at least 5 years experience within a relevant engineering discipline of which at least one year shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with in-service inspection of pressure systems.
Category 3. Engineering Technician as defined by Engineering Council or equivalent, having a minimum of 5 years experience within a relevant discipline of which at least one year shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with the in-service inspection of pressure systems.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including PAYE and LTD company options, comprehensive training, and opportunities for career advancement.
