Job Summary

Head Resourcing is seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Engineer to join our team as a Database Reliability Engineer. This role will be based at our client's office and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of their database systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the on-premises SQL Server estate and expanding cloud database systems.
  • Plan and implement high-availability, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and robust backup, restore, and failover processes.
  • Play a key role in shaping the expanding cloud database system.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of database design, architecture, and security practices.
  • Understanding of always-on availability groups, security, and encryption techniques such as Always Encrypted.
  • Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
