About the Role

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Team in Northamptonshire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, providing support and guidance to individuals, children, carers, and families, and promoting independence and safety.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload, including individuals, children, carers, and families, and provide support and guidance to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Use professional judgement to assess risk and accountability in decision-making, and take the lead in managing positive interventions to prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing.
  • Undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding in complex cases, and support colleagues in utilising safeguarding skills in line with current policies and procedures.
  • Play a leading role in practice development, promote and sustain a learning culture, and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Deliver formal professional reflective supervision and provide guidance and advice on casework to less experienced qualified staff.
  • Take the role of practice educator for students and ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified social workers in the team.
  • Provide support with personal and professional development as part of the supervision and appraisal process.
  • Take responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up-to-date case work records on the database as required.
  • Work within the Directorate's data protection policies.
Requirements
  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Management qualification at least at Level 4.
  • At least 1 year's experience of supervising professional staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas.
