Job Title: Senior Communications Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Communications Design Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Platform Complex Systems Delivery team, you will play a critical role in defining and shaping the design of the Royal Navy's next generation attack class submarine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution, and change management.
  • Understand contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Produce documentation required to support the design review process, including diagrams, technical specifications, supporting calculations, design evidence, and justifications.
  • Undertake design reviews and presentations to customers.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of system or equipment design in internal communications systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in different engineering lifecycle phases.
  • Relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
  • Technical report writing skills and experience in requirements definition and management.
