About the Role

Link3 Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Derby.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed individual to work with special needs children in a supportive and creative environment.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the curriculum, previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or within an SEN provision, and be able to provide a safe and healthy environment following safeguarding procedures.

We are looking for someone who is innovative, resourceful, and has a passion for working with children. The ideal candidate will also be able to relate and effectively communicate with young people, have a good sense of humor, and be enthusiastic about their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering lessons to students with special educational needs
  • Assist with planning and preparation of materials and resources
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to support their learning and development
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure consistency and continuity in student support

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 months' experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or within an SEN provision
  • A good understanding of the curriculum and ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • DBS clearance (registered with the update service)
