About the Home:This 3-bed home supports children and young people aged 8-17 with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) and mild Learning Disabilities. The home has a strong and supportive team already in place, including an RI, DM, and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
- Lead, mentor, and support staff, including the Deputy Manager and Support Workers, fostering a positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards, striving for a Good or Outstanding rating.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to each child's needs, focusing on promoting their emotional, physical, and social development.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring financial stability of the home.
- Work closely with the Director, who is a qualified General Practice Nurse, and the Responsible Individual (RI) from a consultancy service provider.
- Build strong relationships with external agencies, social workers, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the children in your care.
- Take responsibility for the home's registration with Ofsted and ensure that all policies, procedures, and paperwork are up to date.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it).
- At least 2 years of management experience in a children's residential setting (Deputy Manager or Team Leader experience will be considered).
- A proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children's Home Regulations 2015, including the Quality Standards.
- Passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with staff, children, families, and external agencies.
