Solicitor Private Client

Join a dynamic team in Guildford and take on a challenging role as a Solicitor Private Client. You will be responsible for handling will, power of attorney, trust, probate and tax advice work for private clients and to build and develop your own case load.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of support services including supervision of your own secretary if appropriate.
2. Utilise your skills to assist with the training of junior members of staff.
3. Financial control with regard to cash-flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
4. Participate fully in the activities of the team and assist during the absence of other fee earners.
5. Carry out work outside of normal hours where the work requires this.
6. Travelling to client meetings both in and outside the UK when required.
7. To ensure compliance with Lexcel and other regulatory procedures.
8. Competence in chosen area of law and practice.
9. Achieve targets in respect of chargeable hours, fees, recovery rate, lock-up and non-chargeable time as a Solicitor.
10. Develop and maintain a client/referrer base.
11. Understand and undertake proper referral of work to relevant departments and development of work for other departments.
12. Where appropriate, supervise junior members of staff.
13. Involved in practice development.

Key Requirements:

1. A good honours Degree.
2. Show willingness to be involved in activities of the firm outside of work within the department to which you are assigned.
3. Interpersonal, social and communication skills (including an appreciation of the vulnerability of some of our clients, both generally and also specifically at distressing times).
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
5. Computer literate with an ability to develop its use in your functional area.
