About the Job:


Our client is a leading food manufacturer based in Belfast, and they are currently seeking a highly motivated Food Safety and Quality Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work within the commercial, technical, and New Product Development (NPD) team, acting as a key technical contact for major UK supermarket accounts.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Manage customer communications on food safety, quality, and compliance with brand standards and technical specifications.
  • Maintain and manage product specifications, Quality Attribute Sheets, and raw material standards to align with customer requirements.
  • Work alongside commercial and NPD teams to drive customer account development and support project delivery.
  • Conduct product checks and inspections, ensuring adherence to customer specifications. Address any issues with swift corrective actions.
  • Verify product labels for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with customer and operational standards before product launches.
  • Manage key customer data, tracking KPIs such as complaints and performance metrics, and support complaint reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in the sites Allergen Management Programme to ensure compliance with customer and legal requirements.
  • Assist in product presentations, update retail price lists, and participate in customer product launches and reviews.

Requirements:



  • Minimum of 2 years in a technical customer-facing role within the food manufacturing sector.
  • HND or equivalent qualification in food science, food technology, or a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of the FMCG supply chain, quality assurance, and experience with UK retailers, particularly within red meat.
  • Experience with HACCP, allergen management systems, and food labeling.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to meet strict deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving license and flexibility to travel to customer meetings and other sites across the UK and Ireland.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
