A leading national construction consultancy, Brandon James Ltd, is seeking a Senior Principal Designer to manage design risk and ensure health and safety is embedded into all stages of the design and construction phases.
The ideal candidate will provide expert CDM 2015 advice to clients, architects, and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Principal Designer duties, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Provide expert advice on health and safety risk management during the design phase.
- Prepare and review pre-construction information, risk assessments, and construction phase plans.
- Conduct thorough design risk assessments and implement hazard elimination strategies.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Support and mentor junior team members, helping develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or APS) is desirable.
- Proven experience as a Principal Designer, with a strong track record of delivering projects in the construction industry.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within deadlines.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools.
