We are seeking a highly skilled Senior High Voltage Commissioning Specialist to join our team at Morrison Energy Services. Based in the UK, this role will provide an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects within the energy sector.

About the Role

As a Senior High Voltage Commissioning Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the testing and commissioning of high voltage plant and apparatus on our 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV distribution networks. Your primary focus will be to ensure seamless integration with existing protection schemes and to guarantee that all equipment is thoroughly tested and commissioned to current legislation.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong technical expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You will be part of a dynamic team working closely with clients, designers, and site project staff to deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for project teams, including attending client progress meetings and pre-start meetings as required.
  • Encourage innovation and cost-effective working methods across contracts.
  • Identify and resolve design issues raised on site, ensuring conformity to Distribution Network Operator standards.
  • Support projects at a concept stage to ensure robust, cost-effective build solutions.
  • Produce detailed Commissioning Plans.
  • Test and commission high voltage plant and apparatus on the 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV networks.
  • Perform thorough testing and commissioning of Alarm and Control installations.
  • Review and correct scheme-provided drawings as necessary.
  • Ensure safe deployment of personnel under your charge.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering policy, procedure, and legislation.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of testing and commissioning on and around high voltage distribution networks.
  • Strong understanding of engineering policy, procedure, and legislation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and develop processes within operations to enhance productivity.
  • Knowledge of current legislation relating to Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment, including clients, designers, and site project staff.
  • Qualified to HNC/ Degree Level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
