Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Sutton Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a leading company in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing administrative support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain nominal and general ledger accounts, including bank postings and credit card reconciliations
  • Process payroll control accounts, VAT returns, and purchase ledger maintenance
  • Enter purchase invoices and purchase orders, and reconcile supplier statements
  • Raise bulk supplier payments and maintain sales ledger accounts
  • Provide credit control and posting of bank receipts
  • Assist with stock control and costings, including manual adjustments and processing of stock counts
  • Use SAGE 50, Excel, and Word to manage financial data and reports
Requirements:
  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with SAGE 50, Excel, and Word
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
What We Offer:
  • Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 16:30pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)
  • 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (Birthday off)
  • Nest Pension; 3% client, 5% employee
