Job Title

Refurbishment Cost Controller

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial aspects of our refurbishment projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing accurate valuations and applications for payment, assessing and processing subcontractor claims and valuations, controlling costs to ensure projects are delivered within budget, and managing variations and producing cost reports for stakeholders.

About the Role
  • Project Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of refurbishment projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Valuation and Payment: Prepare and manage accurate valuations and applications for payment, ensuring timely and accurate payments to subcontractors.
  • Subcontractor Management: Assess and process subcontractor claims and valuations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Cost Control: Control costs to ensure projects are delivered within budget, identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Stakeholder Management: Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts.
  • Negotiation and cost management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Based in Sunderland, with travel across the Northeast.

Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm, Friday 8am – 3:30pm.
