Neonatal Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Specialist Nurse to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to families experiencing neonatal loss.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the multi-disciplinary team in providing high-quality care to families related to the specialty.
- Work weekdays with occasional weekends and/or night duty to monitor the quality of the service throughout a 24-hour period.
- Provide specialized training for staff regarding the management of neonatal loss.
- Remain up to date as an experienced clinical nurse required to undertake clinical nursing duties in caring for bereaved families.
- Be a resource for medical nursing and midwifery staff on physical, psychological, and administrative aspects of neonatal bereavement.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical examiner, chaplains, bereavement nurse, mortuary officer, neonatal pathologist, histology, and staff at the University Hospital of Wales site mortuary.
- Give specialist advice to doctors and nurses on specific aspects of bereavement care.
- Be available to give practical support and help either by telephone or in person to members of staff at all levels.
- Ensure that the University Health Board's arrangements for responding to the religious and cultural needs of families are met.
