Clinical Assessment Position - Make a Difference

We are seeking experienced nurses and allied health professionals to support the Victims' Payment Board in delivering the clinical assessment service for the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme. As a Clinical Assessor - Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in assessing applicants' conditions and determining their percentage disablement.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in mental health or psychiatric backgrounds, working in a dynamic environment that values your skills and experience. With over four years of post-registration experience, you will have the confidence to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by the Troubles.

The successful candidate will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, with flexible work patterns allowing you to balance work and personal life. You will be working predominantly from home, with clinic visits required. This hybrid approach offers the perfect blend of flexibility and structure.

The salary for this position is £38,500 - £41,400 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive basic salary, we offer a career pathway programme that can increase your salary up to £41,400 plus up to 10% bonus.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess applicants' conditions and determine the permanence of their disability
  • Analyse and interpret clinical information to support your assessment and subsequent report
  • Compile a comprehensive report, including a detailed history, justification, and conclusion, to support the Victims' Payment Board in their decision-making
Essential Requirements:
  • A minimum of 4 years' post-registration experience
  • Fully registered with NISCC without sanction or conditions of practice
  • Demonstrable background in mental health or psychiatric speciality
  • Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales
  • Report writing skills and ability to deal with a high volume of work using a laptop and IT systems
