Brachytherapy Physics Expert

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our team as a Brachytherapy Physics Specialist. The successful candidate will have advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of radiotherapy physics, radiation dosimetry, clinical radiobiology, and radiation protection.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the brachytherapy section and deputise for the Head of Quality Control and Dosimetry.
  • Implement a per-fraction MR-guided technique and develop our gynae brachytherapy service.
  • Calibrate and store sources and ensure compliance with legislation.
About the Team:

The Radiotherapy Physics Service has a team of 48 WTE scientific and technical staff who work together to deliver high-quality care to patients. We use a range of equipment, including Elekta Versa linear accelerators, TomoTherapy HD units, a Radixact unit, and a CyberKnife.
