Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our CoE Actuation and Landing Gear team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our Falconworks program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary Role:
    • Provide domain expertise to set the direction of the development of the program, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
    • Lead the full lifecycle development of actuation and landing gear sub-systems, driving innovation and efficiency to meet challenging first flight timescales and subsequent spiral development.
    • Engage with key suppliers to identify and engineer solutions that meet our business needs, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Secondary Role:
    • Provide subject matter expertise to other SDU supported programs, including the Tempest Demonstrator and GCAP programs.
    • Develop and mentor other SDU engineers in actuation and landing gear domains, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Ensure alignment and consistency of approach with regard to product design/development across the project(s), driving efficiency and quality.
    • Create and manage platform-level requirements, ensuring they are met and exceeded.
    • Configure and control design artefacts through to design release, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Coordinate and manage deviations, waivers, WQNs, and SPRs, ensuring compliance and quality.
    • Collate evidence in support of product release, including creation of Air Vehicle SoD, CoD, and limitations.
    • Interface with CEM, System Delivery Units, and Air Functions to ensure appropriate support to integration activities across all Falconworks Programmes.
    • Interface with PEMs/PTMs to ensure appropriate engineering effort to delivery of all Falconworks Programmes.
