Accounting and Financial Reporting Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join our team at RSM. As a key member of our Accounting and Financial Reporting (AFR) service line, you will be responsible for providing expert financial reporting advice to our clients across a wide range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients with varying assignments, including determining resource requirements, liaising with clients, and monitoring team progress.
- Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through reading, courses, and development requirements.
- Provide technical support to AFR Directors and Partners, as well as technical advice to clients and other departments.
- Liaise with clients throughout the year, practicing excellent client service principles.
- Monitor practice management system reports to ensure profitable recoverability of work in progress and timely billing.
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the firm's specialist services, actively looking for opportunities to cross-sell and undertake special work in response to client needs.
- Participate in the recruitment process for specialist hires or graduate recruits, leading first-round interviews and making recommendations to AFR Directors and Partners.
- Manage the AFR team's appraisal process, ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for junior members of the team.
- Perform the firm's review and completion procedures, attending the final meeting with the client and ensuring timely delivery of final accounts, management letters, and adjustments to opening balances.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA fully qualified, with at least three years PQE and one year experience of managing a full portfolio of clients.
- Strong technical skills, including experience of using accounting software and in-depth understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
- Well-developed people skills to relate to clients and colleagues, with good organisational and time management skills.
- At least 3 days present in the office each week to support colleagues face-to-face.
