Job Title: IFRS Expert

This organisation plays a significant role in shaping the financial reporting landscape for UK companies by influencing, endorsing, and adopting new or amended international accounting standards issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering allocated projects, which may involve influencing the IASB's development of new or amended IFRS, assessing new or amended IFRS for UK endorsement, or conducting research projects.
  • Managing small technical teams and developing project plans with key milestones and clearly set responsibilities.
  • Coordinating and reviewing the work of allocated project teams, engaging with the international debate, and identifying and analysing any issues and concerns.
  • Gathering evidence and assessing stakeholders' views on the project and any proposals through desk-based research, outreach with stakeholders, and other standard setters.
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality technical papers.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the financial reporting environment for listed companies and a keen interest in IFRS.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with a four-day fortnight in an office and occasional travel abroad for business needs.
