We support clients in resolving their most difficult sustainability challenges, from foresight and strategy to net zero roadmaps and circular economy solutions.

  • Foresight: We helped a global client develop a strategy for circularity of plastics, considering multiple stakeholder viewpoints and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategy: Our team assisted a client in achieving systems change in complex multi-stakeholder systems, unlocking sustainability opportunities.
  • Net Zero Roadmap: We created a low-carbon technology roadmap for a client, encompassing current and future technologies to close the emissions gap.
  • Appraising Alternative Technologies: We evaluated solutions to replace current surfactant sources, assessing their technical, commercial, and sustainability viability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery

  • Lead and deliver projects that deliver business value to clients.
  • Generate and communicate actionable recommendations, articulating key sustainability messages with clear strategic storytelling.
  • Write engaging reports, drawing on expertise from internal and external Subject Matter Experts.
  • Manage multiple projects independently, meeting tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, allocating tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring delivery.
  • Manage project plans, including project setup, budgeting, invoicing, and closure.

2. Business and Sustainability Practice Development

  • Contribute to the expansion of the sustainability team, developing new service offerings and producing insightful material for sales.
  • Lead development of new proposals and projects in close coordination with business development teams.
  • Recognize and understand how the sustainability landscape is changing, identifying potential future client needs.

3. Client and Team Interaction

  • Understand commercial, technical, and strategic factors affecting clients and their impact on their business.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, becoming their trusted advisor.
  • Engage with client stakeholders at various levels, leading and delivering meetings and facilitating workshops.
  • Present project work at internal and external meetings.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across Sagentia Innovation and its sister companies.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members.

4. Adherence to Group Policies and Processes

  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Ensure adherence to group project management practices, policies, and processes.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, physics, biosciences, environmental science).
  • Previous consulting experience.
  • Experience managing projects to tight timescales and budgets.
  • Passion for, knowledge, and working experience of sustainability.
  • Ability to explain ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to efficiently deal with multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good project coordination and attention to detail.
