Construction Manager (MEP) Job Description

A reputable MEP contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to lead their team on a commercial project in Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the Mechanical construction elements of the works, focusing on programme, quality, and safety (HSE).
  • Report directly to the Project Manager/Director.
  • Ensure work meets Authority requirements and Contractors proposals.
  • Monitor and complete procedural documentation.
  • Develop and check construction programmes, monitoring progress against these.
  • Coordinate contractors' operations at preconstruction and construction stages.
  • Support and engage with commercial and design teams.
  • Keep Project Manager informed at all times.
  • Eliminate or reduce health & safety risks in construction.
  • Set up, implement, and review safety systems.
  • Proactively promote and manage behavioural safety on site.
  • Establish and monitor quality and environmental systems.
  • Review design for buildability and long-term durability.
  • Support CSR BREEAM/DREAM process and submission.
  • Lead the construction team, mentoring and driving good behaviours for project success.
  • Support Business Continuity Planning.
Requirements:
  • Experience in safe and timely delivery of large-scale D&B projects as Construction Manager.
  • Delivery of high-quality projects.
  • Good knowledge of building and MEP construction techniques and methodology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Up-to-date on Safety legislation and implementation.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence for regular national travel.
  • CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
