Dental Health Educator

Job Overview
Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join their team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential support to patients in receipt of secondary care mental health services.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals to achieve and maintain optimum levels of independence by providing support, choice, and dignity in their daily living. This will involve assessing, implementing, and evaluating agreed plans of care, as well as engaging with a caseload under direct and indirect supervision from registered staff.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to engage in a range of clinics, including Clozapine, Lithium, ADHD, and physical health monitoring clinics. You will also be responsible for some administration work, including booking clinics.
Person Specification
- Minimum of QCF Level 3 (formerly NVQ Level 3) in Health or willingness to complete in an agreed timeframe
- Evidence of attendance at courses/study days pertinent to the specialty
- Evidence of competence assessment in administration of Buccal Midazolam
Knowledge and Skills
- Evidence of maintaining personal development
- Demonstrates an understanding of the scope of the role in the context of the nursing team
- Knowledge and understanding of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of care and the importance of promoting health and wellbeing
Experience and Values
- Significant experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant
- Shows empathy and compassion towards others
- Shows resilience, adaptability, and a flexible approach as situations arise
