About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Reserving team at AXIS Capital, a leading global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the quarterly reserving process, coordinating with various Product and Corporate functions, and driving improvements to our existing reserving processes and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in producing the AXIS quarterly reserving estimates.
  • Support the peer review of the Product Line quarterly reserve analyses and validation of the selected actuarial estimates.
  • Participate in reserve meetings for the quarterly reserving process.
  • Develop new diagnostics tools and reports to enhance the quarterly process and provide valuable insights to colleagues across AXIS.
  • Perform additional project work, including deep dives of specific lines of business.
  • Support the annual Planning exercise, collaborating closely with Pricing and Risk Functions.
  • Provide support for other Group Functions (Finance, Risk, Investments) as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of industry experience with an insurance, reinsurance, or consulting background in reserving, pricing, or modeling roles.
  • Actively working to qualify as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with management information systems, including database and application development.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, SQL Server, VBA capabilities, with additional experience with ResQ, PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Oracle or similar applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, proactive, and prepared to operate autonomously.
  • Ability to develop, recommend, and implement new approaches.
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours as required.
