About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Technician with a strong background in calibration and maintenance. The successful candidate will have a methodical approach, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration and testing activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Produce calibration and test certificates as required.
  • Detect and diagnose instrument faults, with some minor repair capabilities.
  • Provide technical support to clients, including advice on instrument use, repair, and replacement.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to customers, if necessary.
  • Assist the internal sales team with technical queries.
  • Maintain and repair hire stock of instruments, client equipment, and laboratory equipment.
  • Undertake occasional on-site visits to set up and remove rental equipment.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the team.
  • Manage personal and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a calibration laboratory environment, adhering to ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 standards.
  • BTEC qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Methodical approach with strong diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and numerical literacy skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software packages.
  • Ability to work independently, meeting deadlines.

Estimated Salary: £24,000 per annum.
