About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our Facilities team at STV Group plc. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the office is secure and safe for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the office is secured as appropriate.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Check and issue employee and visitor security passes.
- Undertake Health and Safety (H&S) inductions with new employees.
- Monitor the access control system at Pacific Quay and external properties.
- Monitor fire panels and isolate zones, liaising with the Fire Officer during evacuations.
- Deal with visitors and contractors, ensuring completion of Permit to Work if required.
- Undertake building checks for safety and fire hazards, checking fire extinguishers and H&S equipment.
- Answer the switchboard and deal with enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Check and refill first aid boxes and undertake training on defibrillators.
- Monitor fire exit doors and disabled toilet alarms.
- Regularly test fire and lift alarms.
- Check and sign for packages.
- Book account and cash taxis, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Operate CCTV to monitor internal and external facilities.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a Security-related role is essential.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety.
- Previous experience of liaising with emergency service personnel, such as the Fire Officer.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, as this role is the first point of contact for security queries via email and telephone.
- Proactive, demonstrates initiative and willingness to take on responsibility.
- Competent PC skills in all MS Office software, especially Word, Explorer, Outlook, and MS Teams.
- Full clean driver's licence is preferred but not essential.
- First Aid qualifications are desired but not essential, as training will be provided.
