Overview of the Youth Support Coordinator Position

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Adullam Homes Housing Association Ltd, a organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals and households.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a key member of our team, providing assistance and guidance to unaccompanied asylum seeking young people within a 24 hour supported accommodation setting.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering nurturing person centred support that is bespoke to suit the needs of each individual accessing the service.

This includes assisting residents in developing the skills required to settle in to a new area, overcome barriers and learn skills towards independence.

Some young people may have experienced significant trauma in their home country and on their journey to the UK.

The post holder must be empathetic, knowledgeable and professional in understanding the specific needs of asylum seeking adolescents transitioning into adulthood.

Speakers of other languages would be an advantage (especially Arabic) but not essential.

You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Associations values, culture and ethos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver person-centred support plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
  • Assist residents in developing skills to settle in a new area, overcome barriers, and achieve independence.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents who may have experienced trauma.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the association's values, culture, and ethos.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high level of empathy and understanding of the needs of asylum-seeking adolescents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
