Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Paediatric Haematology to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold a MBChB or equivalent medical degree and postgraduate qualification or equivalent MRCPCH/MRCP.
  • Have relevant clinical experience in Haemoglobinopathy and good team-working skills.
  • Be eligible for specialist registration in Haematology and have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent FRCPath.
  • Have experience in teaching medical students and junior medical staff, and be able to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and have strong organisational skills.
  • Have a commitment to developing research within the field of Paediatric Haematology.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and registered on the GMC Specialist Register (or be within 6 months of CCT date from the date of interview) or equivalent.
  • Have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent and relevant clinical experience in Laboratory Haematology.
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to teaching, audit, and research.
Desirable Qualifications
  • MD, PhD, or other higher degree.
  • Experience of audit and leadership skills.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or a demonstrable commitment to developing research within this field in the Trust.
