Educational Expert for Exceptional Children

KIPP Charlotte is seeking an exceptional Educational Expert for Exceptional Children to join our team. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs to access the general education curriculum through a resource model.
Job Summary- This position is responsible for providing specially designed instruction (SDI) to students who qualify for special education services.
- You will utilize the general education curriculum and research-based programs to plan and deliver instruction for students with disabilities based on their individualized education plans.
- Additional responsibilities include developing positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff, maintaining accurate gradebook records, and participating in daily school functions.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 full years of teaching experience in EC/SPED General Curriculum and be able to provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom accommodations and instructional modifications.
Requirements- Valid North Carolina teaching license or willingness to pursue state certification
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant content area
- Experience writing IEPs and 504s for students with varying abilities
