About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Beaumont Care Homes. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care homes and providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned maintenance of the care home and surrounding grounds to ensure excellent first impressions for visitors.
  • Ensure the smooth operation and serviceability of all services, including heating, lighting, plumbing, and non-medical equipment.
  • Maintain the care home's exterior, including pathways, driveways, flowerbeds, and grassed areas.
  • Identify and report maintenance defects, and engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure allocated tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Undertake decorating, including painting and wallpapering, minor refurbishment, and maintenance within the care home.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota and providing temporary cover for sister homes.
  • Assist with fire and water risk assessments and reviews, and carry out plumbing, joinery, and general building repairs to a good standard.
  • Maintain the company vehicle and carry out basic safety checks.

  • Confidence and enthusiasm to carry out fault-finding and basic repairs to equipment.

  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
