Location: Sutton

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with a child in Year 1 with Autism in a fantastic Primary School based in the central part of Sutton. The school has a brilliant reputation for excellent academic results and brilliant pastoral care where no children are left behind.

The ideal candidate will have at least six months experience working with children with SEN (Voluntary or Paid) and be able to provide high-quality support to the child. Full training will be provided to work with the child, but previous experience working with children with ASD would be advantageous.

The child is friendly and a great to work with, and the team has a high-quality Education Health Care Plan in place that the child responds well to and is making good progress.

We are looking for a diligent, positive, and emotionally intelligent individual who can make learning fun and communicate effectively with the child, parents, and school staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to the child with Autism in Year 1
  • Work closely with the child's parents and school staff to ensure the child's needs are met
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the child's learning and development
  • Communicate effectively with the child, parents, and school staff

Requirements:

  • At least six months experience working with children with SEN (Voluntary or Paid)
  • Previous experience working with children with ASD would be advantageous
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the child, parents, and school staff
  • Emotionally intelligent and able to make learning fun
