Job Title: Director of Engineering Projects

Blatchford is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Engineering Projects to lead our cross-functional engineering teams in delivering clinically superior outcomes for our patients.

Job Description:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of medical device development and leadership experience in all phases of product development. As Director of Engineering Projects, you will be responsible for the functional management of a small but growing team of Project Managers, collaborating with our cross-functional engineering teams to manage the execution of technical deliverables/tasks and drive projects through our stage gate framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the creation of the product development roadmap, define accurate NRE budgets, detailed project plans, and ultimately deliver real business value.
  • Support, guide, and input commercial/clinical requirements into our 3-5 Innovation Roadmap.
  • Recruit, develop, and coach the Engineering Project Management team, proactively leading a team of professional project managers.
  • Define and report on measures or KPI for all product development projects, ensuring business contributions are well controlled.
  • Manage project risk, supporting inputs at system integration points and defining realistic cross-functional mitigation plans - proposing timeline & budget plans to executive leadership.
  • Manage, control, and track all project resourcing levels, including internal/external people resources, purchased material, and device validation builds.
Requirements:
  • BSc or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in medical device development, including leadership roles in all phases of product development.
  • Demonstrated experience of direct management and leadership experience.
